Early February 2016 Hatch - Who's In?

Thank you! I have Ancona duck eggs! I've hatched Seramas, OEGB and Silkies, but never ducks, so this should be pretty exciting!

Be sure to check out the duck section too: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks if you haven't already for incubating tips. I know they have slightly different needs/set up.

And we require lots a duckling pics!

How many does it need to hold? The stryofoam ones ( farm innovator, hova bater, etc) tend to be cheaper but require more attention. There are a few new types but on Amazon but it seems they are not getting very good reviews. You can pick up a still air without turner around $60.
Less than 48. For my "overflow" - aka "can't stop buying eggs" purchases. I'd like for it to be able to be used in my classroom as well, so I'm starting to think that something with circulated air/egg turner would be best.... sigh... it's just so hard when everybody has different experiences with the same one, nothing is consistent.

In all honesty - I would use your Brinsea in the classroom and the other one at home. At least that way you can have the "set it and forget it" at work for evenings & weekends. ( lot's of teacher relatives for me so I know that you all are in the classroom more than just during school hours

but no reason to have to be there even more!)

So the neighbor just came down yesterday and gave me half a dozen Welsumer eggs from his flock.

Been wanting some more purebred Welsumers so I was super happy. However, already had my six mutt eggs in the incubator since the 15th. Going to try a staggered hatch for the first time! Anyone have any advice?
