Early morning attack, Please help!

How is she this morning?

So she is still with us this morning, but with no improvement. Instead the thing she's doing with her neck has gotten worse. yesterday I could get her to lay on her side with her neck and head supported in a normal position. This morning I found her on her side with her neck twisted back and her head looking up at the ceiling. When I tried to reposition her, she just flopped around like she was having a seizure and her neck twisted and her head flopped back over so she was looking at the ceiling. I just don't know that she is going to recover from this and I'm really beginning to feel like I am being selfish for prolonging her pain. I just don't know what to do.

I think I would add poultry cell to the water. It may help with heal the muscles if they were injured. Won't hurt to try.

I have been following this thread all weekend.

First off, deepest condolences on what happened to Marty and hugs to you for all you are doing for her.

I watched your video and noticed that Marty has a head tremor once she settles down from dealing with her floppy neck. Connecting that with the ear injury I'm wondering if she doesn't have a brain injury that is causing all these symptoms. Bleeding from the ears can be a sign of a brain injury as well as a direct injury to the tissues surrounding the ear. If something grabbed her by the head and she struggled, well, it doesn't take much to do a lot of damage there.

If she does have a brain injury and is suffering from swelling, there isn't much you can do other than the good supportive care you are giving her.

One suggestion is to darken the room, use a pen light and see if she has pupillary reaction by shining the light in her eyes and then moving it away to see if her pupils dilate and constrict the way they should.

It's safe to say we have all been in your shoes. It's a tough decision to make under any circumstances. But either way, you will know if it is time or not. Your head and heart are in the right place.

Thank you for your kind words, I have been crying all morning. A brain injury is where I have been leaning since last night and I just don't know that she can recover from that. I have never had to put down an animal, it's always been done by a vet or my husband. We have no vets here in my small town and my husband is away, so this is all on me. She also has a very strong odor coming from her now. She has not pooped and her vent is clear. So I don't know what its from. I'm just sitting here trying to get up the courage to do what needs to be done. I think I'll go get her and just hold her for awhile. Maybe if I tell her it's ok to let go she will on her own. I'm just so sick over this.

My heart breaks for you

Having a strong odor and she has not pooped, is not a good sign.
Take a little time, hold her, love on her and decide what you want/need to do. I think most of us have been there.
