Well, my chicks just felt their first earthquake here in So.Cal. I was sitting in the patio and all of a sudden they started running and chirping. The next thing I realized was the earth moving. It was small by our standards a 4.7 located about 60+ miles away, but NOT my favorite thing.

Glad I'm not there!

Did they start freaking out before you felt it? Thats kinda handy! A few second warning for you.

Okay....I know this might sound weird.....I grew up in CA and my sister and I kinda liked earthquakes....
but I never had any real bad damage from one. That might change my feelings....glad you are okay.

The last time I felt an earthquake was the San Fran in 1989... I was on the Golden Gate when it happened!!! I am so glad I no longer have to deal with them!!! Glad to hear you are your girls are okay!!!!

Thanks for all the well wishes. It was not a big earthquake, but I remember 3 really large ones in my adult life and I keep waiting for "the next big one". I keep trying to convince my husband to move east, but he said that tornados and hurricanes and floods happen much more often than quakes. How do you argue with that logic? LOL

LOL... Where we live here... we have no tornados in our area (the mountains break them up), no floods really to speak of... yah a couple here and there but nothing major... There is one thing I hate about the east and that is HUMIDITY!!! But, I guess that is why they invented air conditioning...

Oh and as far as hurricanes are concerned... we are far enough in for the cost that we are not really effected except for alot of rain... I have lived in VA for 7 years now and have yet to experiance a hurricane!!! Good luck convincing DH

I've lived in the Central Valley my whole life and have never felt an earthquake. I was floating around in my mother's Uterus when the 89' quake happened.

I find it funny that people say they wont live in Cali because of quakes, but I've never felt one. Tornados and crap like that happen all the time!
