We're outside of Raleigh and we felt it too. I was sitting on the couch and it started shaking like crazy, I yelled at the dog because I thought she got a crazy itch and was shaking the whole couch trying to get it!

Turned out the dog was outside!

I was on the computer when it happened. I freaked out! The epicenter was in DC, and nicknacks were falling off of the shelves in Cresson.

Whoops, just saw they did have a 5.3 last night.... That's some shaking, but not really damaging.

I felt it too, as did one of my kids. The two who were outdoors didn't notice it, although I might have, since I lived in CA and am attuned to what they feel like even when you can't see them.

I have facebook friends from all over, and it was felt all the way from Michigan to North Carolina.

One of my friends in the Alexandria, VA/ DC area said they may be evacuating the Capitol and Pentagon, and that cell service there is out.

Prayers going up for everyone's safety and that there's no panic. This part of the country doesn't get many earthquakes.

I blame Sourland... or maybe EM... definitely EM was in on it. She bribed Sourland and MFB with brownies to release her minions to tickle the giant chicken under ground thus causing the earthquake
