Holy cow! I was just thinking about posting the same thing! my mom and I felt it here around 1:55 -- lasted about 15 seconds or so.

This is rather disturbing.. We hadn't thought about learning earthquake safety here for the middle of New York!!

Here's some information about the quake everybody on the East Coast is talking about:
Magnitude 5.9, 1 kilometer deep, in Virginia, according to my Earthquake watch application on my iPhone. 27 miles east of Charlottesville.

We felt it in VT too! Felt like riding a boat rocking on a wave! Not scary enough to run outside, but enough to make most people notice!

Felt it here too. The glass cabinet in the kitchen was rattling. I thought it was the dog, when I look over she was not there. Then the cat came bolting in like her life depended on it.

I just got home and when the house started shaking, I thought there was someone upstairs, or a very large tree branch fell on the roof. Bolted out of the house with the dogs, and did not find out until my brother called a minute later.
