Easiest, Most Humane Method to Cull (Euthanize)

Thats what some people call culling on here as well. its removing animals from your breeding stock, is all. Not necessarily the method of how.

It comes from those who take the quick (if sometimes messy) approach, and those who don't have the heart and stomach to do it the quick old fashioned way, and use the freezer or gas chamber techniques. - while they get the job done its just not my opinion thats its humane, and its without a doubt - not fast. Ahhh, I see. I know on each site there are certain threads that ALWAYS go down the tubes. I am on a barrel racing site, and it always gets nasty when anyone brings up horse slaughter.

I want to do what's most humane for the bird, and easist on me, but what's easiest on me is secondary to what's best for the bird. So even if this gets canned, I have the answer I need.

Luvin, I agree, it's NOT easiest for me. But it is for my chickens when they suffer. Chickens have changed my feelings on alot of things that I never would have thought. I will add my opinions in posts, but I will not argue them. I have never had an argument online and have the other person say, "OH, you are right and I am wrong!".

You asked for suggestions, and hopefully people will respect that, like they have so far.

Thanks Seminole. I am inclined to treat with Tylan as he has been here 2-3 weeks and eats and drinks well. He doesn't blend in with the other 4 all that great, and sometimes he looks kida droopy. He also has one eye that i was told he was blind as he was low on totem pole and had been pecked. I have no idea if that's why that eye is a wee bit weepy or not. I have Vetrx and treat him with that again also.

He's a Serama, any idea on the dosage? I'd guess he weighs about 16 or 17 oz maybe.

I'm hoping so. Just hope the eye issue isn't really part of the respiratory issue. He's a pretty fellow, and sweet so I'd like to give him a chance.
