Easiest way the sex a polish....?

hi there!

I have 2 4ish week old polish chicks and was wonder if there is any easy way the sex them...

I’ve heard it is extremely difficult to sex this type of breed (and silkies)

But was wondering if you had any ideas...

*im thinking the lighter brown/yellow/white one is a rooster..but I might be wrong*

What do you think their genders are?

(Also if you know, can you please tell me what the last light colored policy will look like? What breed of polish is she?)

Polish are the best... any spurs dots on any of them? Agree the brownish one has pretty solid legs, I would call cockrel on that one but the 3 others.. hard to tell. I hope the lavender hued one is a girl. Very pretty.

Too young to sex, polish are notoriously difficult to sex. Post again when they are at LEAST 8 weeks old.

I really hope/ (I think) the lavender polish is a girl too! the other one (lighter brown one) is growing in feathers a lot slower then ALL the other chicks — that’s a sign for roosters. Hopefully none are boys, because we won’t be able to keep them...

I love polish and I don’t want to get rid of any roosters, hopefully these 2 beautiful birds become pullets...

They are really hard to sex...I'd wait a bit longer. The females will develop a rounder crest and the males will have 'crazy hair'.

I’ve noticed ‘crazy hair’ on Mashpotato, (the brown light one)

How about their feathery tails? Been tricky for mixed breeds for me and had some surprises....

Long story short, it's so hard to tell until it's obvious... wish there was a fool proof solution ...

Agree, polish are difficult to sex. Don't look for spur buds, males and females both have them. Heck, I even have a hen with spurs.
