I imagine that would work just fine. I think I would glue it shut just so they can't peck it open though.

IMO--
I don't think it'll work unless it's white or brown (??)--
I'm not sure they would recognize it as an "egg" if a bright color and may just ignore or even "play" with it...???

We even used colored plastic golfballs - they couldn't tell the difference! But it worked!

i usd the little plastic eggs that the kids get at easter and i put sand in them to weigh them down so they would not poop out of the nest...i glued them shut and within a few days i had no more eggs on the floor

I use easter eggs for decoys in my hens nests. Works great I use the invisible tape and tape it together.
