I think so too, and he's only ten weeks old, so will get better, I think. Shank color, I don't know about it.

I lost so many of them last year with my dog's attack, had a poor hatch, and lost two to a hawk this spring. Down to three EE bantams! So I ordered five and got six from Cackle, only one of which is a pullet. Go figure! She and one of the cockerels are gray with slate legs, and then this guy is handsome, and I don't know what his shank color will do to his offspring.

I don't know either about leg color. I think mine have slate legs. I can look tomorrow.

I'm down to just 2 females, and a bantam Olive egger rooster who's full of himself. I had plans to get a few more, but instead hatched some crosses with my bantam cochins instead this year.

What confuses me about his shank color is that it's not white like Speckled Sussex, or slate, or greenish. Hatchmates in this batch have either slate or green legs, as expected. I may keep him and try it out, or not?!

I went back and reread your post. Yours has white slate legs. Perhaps those will darken with age? It is an attractive coloring.

I don't know who knows genetics on here anymore.

White slate is how they look, but??? The one chart I found only showed white, blue, green, and yellow as choices.

I was wondering about the leg color. I have maybe 2 EE bantam pullets with this coloring of the legs! It’s like blue but gray or green but not. I can’t decide lol
