Easter Egger club!

Mine were shipped straight from Ideal. I figured I'd have at least 30% sexing failures, and ordered accordingly. The only ones I can be sure about are the red sex links.

I'm considering making a rooster collar and keeping one roo, if the collar works. Never tried one before, but I understand that if you stay on top of it and fit it properly, the crow is not as loud as a dog bark and not easily identifiable as a rooster crow by the average suburbanite.

HE has warmed up to the birds, and he's especially liking the idea that they pay rent. He loves eggs and chicken breasts, while I like eggs and dark meat. As long as they stay healthy and productive, I think we will be keeping at least 10-20 layers. He's even asked me about meat birds!i told him to build me a chicken plucker and I'd consider meat birds.

My yellow headed one and the really red one (that looks noticeably softer and poofier than the others) are very friendly. They go out of their way to sit on roosts next to me when I sit on a chair outside their pen, don't peck at me when handled, are quite calm girls. The poofy red one almost looks furry. I'll try to get better pics of her.

I didn't get any EEs that were anything but typical chipmunk pattern, and all seem to be some form of (I think it's called) partridge pattern. That's ok. Variety in colors is provided by my cuckoo Marans, black austrolorps, Delawares. I still want some lavendar or blue, but it'll come. Your birds are so pretty!

Lol oops. I will say if you want beautiful EEs go to a place called Chicadee Hatchery. I'm spelling it wrong but her birds are gorgeous. We got 7 and not a one was gold. Almost all are pretty blue/lavender colored. Light and dark. Here's the ones I didnt sell

The lighter one wouldn't look up and unfortunately the last one just started looking like a boy even though she had female coloring forever.
