SweetnessMy babies!
A beard or puffy cheeks, green feet or blue feet are also sometimes a way you can tell if they have Ameraucana or Araucana blood. The best way to tell is by the color of the egg. Blue or green eggs and it doesn't meet the breed standard for Ameraucana or Araucana = EE. There are some common traits to look for if they were hatchery bred.
Where did you get your chicks?
I think you quoted the wrong person. This was who asked:A beard or puffy cheeks, green feet or blue feet are also sometimes a way you can tell if they have Ameraucana or Araucana blood.
When traits like a red comb and woddles are hard to determine sex with, look for saddle feathers, tail feathers that are uneven and not rounded, and comb color (redder might mean male) can help.
@mhoney6943 If you want to post pictures, some of us can tell by visual clues at 7 weeks and certainly at 16 whether they are male or female. And whether they look like a different breed or typical EEs.I got two that are suppose to be EE hens. I got them when they were 7 weeks old and are now 16 weeks. I am now discovering that one is a roo. Anyway, how do I tell the hen is a EE one? Hope it's easier to tell than the sex, lol.
