Ah, but that's not what I was asking... I wanted something that folds the statistics of the crosses in as well. I have no way of knowing what the breed cross was, and I'm wondering what are the odds of for example, blue eggs. If it's dominant, that helps. Is this a simple dominance, or is it more like color genetics in horses, which is fairly complicated?
Here is a link to egg color. It's the best one I have found. http://scratchcradle.wordpress.com/2012/07/01/gms1-genetics-of-egg-color/

There is a school of thought that if a bird lays blue or green then it is an EE. If it lays any other color like white, tan, pink, etc. then it is a mutt regardless if it hatched from a blue or green egg or not. You will find people on both sides of that fence.

Nice website! I've bookmarked that.

If the school of thought you describe carried, wouldn't be impossible to sell a chick as an EE? Hmmm.... Of course, mine were sold as Arucanas, which I was pretty sure wasn't accurate, but...

Oh look, I'm not an egg anymore, I've hatched! LOL.

She was "suppose to" be a Sicilian Buttercup
...and I was still hoping for a Buttercup...
..however...
her comb began to turn very red late last week and I now believe my once thought Buttercup is an Easter Egger Cockerel...any name suggestions? Confirmation of Roo?

She was fascinating as a chick...looked leopard printed
...and her coloring continued to fascinate me.
and now she's very very dark. My Granddaughter named her Kitty, because of her leopard spots in the beginning. She (they are 5 weeks yesterday) continues to be a pullet, unlike the one above.

I agree, but if you look on the Ameraucauna or Auracana sites, you will see lots of "discussion" on the topic of what to call which bird. If you breed two Ameraucaunas of different colors together, the resulting offspring is an EE.....

Doesn't matter what you call them one way or the other to me. They are the best layers I have, and I adore them

Hey guys! Thought I'd stop by and join the fun. I have three EE's... Reeses (rooster), Rolo, and Phyllis Diller (she was still alive when we got our baby last year :( ). In addition to them, I have 5 others: 1 delaware (Lindsey Lohan), 2 blonde sexlinks who are now redheads (Winnie and Ava - Wife #2 and #1 to our rooster, Reeses), 2 rhode island reds (Roxy and Ginger).

Reeses Phyllis

Rolo

I need to get a saddle for Phyllis as Reeses has torn up her back big time. But she's the only one that lays bluish-green eggs. Rolo lays brown.

Anyway, all of our flock:

Keep in mind that while the pea comb gene sits close to the blue egg gene, they can diverge (10-15% chance if I remember right). Found that out when my oea combed nicely bearded girl lay cream colored eggs. :/ Funny thing is, her eggs are usually the same weight as my blue egg laying EE. She's an excellent layer and the eggs are pretty so I can't be too annoyed. ;) Definitely a reason why I wouldn't outcross my EE's if I bred them. There's no gurantees that you can say you're selling a blue gene carrier even if it shows mist of the signs.
