Easter Egger club!

When will a EE commonly start to lay eggs? Should I be doing anything to help her get started? Like putting her in layer box? I'm so excited to get my first egg! I want her to lay in the coop not in yard . Any tips would be great! How many of you folks have had broody EE's? If it happens, will it be at a young age?

I was told by a crazy lady, "Susan", Froggysomething... that if you squeeze them a little everyday it helps the process.

Angie16hearts I put ping pong balls or golf balls in nesting boxes to help them get idea where to lay. You still may find a few outside or on the floor now and then at first. Oh if yours free range this may not help all that much. I can't free range here too many flying predators.

If you keep them confined in a pen for a few weeks before they free range they will go back to the nestbox to lay their eggs and then go back out

Here are my 2, Shela is a sweet girl and puts herself between Rosa & my Golden Comets when Rosa is terrorizing them.

This is Rosa Klebb she is a bully bordering on evil because she grabbed a chick and threw it.

I was told that they were both already laying but I've had them for a week now & nothing.

This is the coop box (basket), I added the curtain because I read on here they like privacy.
Is this OK or do my chickens think it's weird?

I also have this one under the picnic table. I keep showing them the blue plastic easter eggs.
