Easter Egger club!

Oh excellent, I didn't realize the curve of the tail was an indicator as well, but that makes sense.  As for the patchiness in color that was mentioned, I seen elsewhere that EE pullets tend to have more neutral and subtle color schemes, is that true?

Yep. From my own experiences with EEs. The most gorgeous calico colored ones are always roosters. Sometimes they'll have deep brick red patches on their shoulders. Sometimes these patches will be silver instead because something in their background bleaches out the red.

Meet Penelope... I believe she is an EE! I'm excited... I'm hoping I picked a few out of the assorted bin. I snatched all the puffy cheeked ones I saw !

Am I guessing right? Are these EE? I've never had any before. (Fingers crossed!)

When will a EE commonly start to lay eggs? Should I be doing anything to help her get started? Like putting her in layer box? I'm so excited to get my first egg! I want her to lay in the coop not in yard . Any tips would be great! How many of you folks have had broody EE's? If it happens, will it be at a young age?
