Welcome, love my EE'S :)

I love my EE. She is the head chicken. One time I was out with my chickens letting them free range, cheeks was by the door and the dog started barking in the garage. Then Eloise ( my black jersey giant hen) came running towards the door and cheeks shoved her out of the way telling her it wasn't safe. She loves playing with her sisters and can't stand it without them, I hope to upload a picture soon.

I will have to take a new pick our ours, named her Pepper Looks alot like this one
Hmmm I may have to head to UFA tomorrow for a sack of scratch, (I feed 17% layer ration w/a 2nd feed tub available in the henhouse of DE) but I can make room in my feed tote for a sack of scratch to be used as a "treat/bribe"! When we caught them on Sunday & when I pulled them from the travel tote into the henhouse they didn't fight me holding them they all just "sat there" well maybe Sunshine fought a bit but nothing really that stood out like "oh man I don't think she'd do well as a backyard hen". On another note everyone is talking about black & white hens being rare?. Speckles I thought was the prettiest of the 5 black & whites they had for sale! maybe I should have just gone for all 5 black & white hens & been the envy of the club LOL (but that said my other 4 girls are pretty cool marked too!)

Oh my gosh they are so cute.

I have a chick pippin 4 days early, it is an australorp cross, I also have some EE mixes that havn't hatched yet.

Wow were you struggling with higher temps with this hatch. My hatch at the first of the week hatched on day 19. I think with fewer eggs in the incubator it kept the eggs warmer than when I had a fuller incubator in December.
