Easter Egger club!

I don't have any copper marans. The hatchery I bought her from does not even handle them. However, I went back to the hatchery website and found a "Asian Blue" I was not suppose to get any of them in my package, but she sure well could be one of them.

I was not suppose to get an EE in my package either, but I did.

What I did was order them through a local feed mill from hoover hatchery, I did not have to pay postage then. However, they take every ones orders and make one large order out of it. Then when the birds are delivered they sort them out for each person. I will not do this again, because you do not get any "extra" chicks they keep them and sell them, and you are not even sure you are getting what you ordered.

Point in case, this bird I should not have gotten. I am not an expert on breeds by any means and if you say she is not an EE, I am not going to disagree. I just assumed she was an EE, as I only have one of her and I got a lot of EE's.

Ok so the feed store just announced it's getting in "Ameraucana" pullets on January 21!!!! I know, I know, they're Easter Eggers! Question. Do all the chicks look the same at a few days old or will I be able to pick varying colors? Think I'm gonna get four. Soooo excited I'm having heart palpitations!

I know of two colors. one of them is reddish brown whit stripes they turn out to be brown red and the other is a white/silver striped chick that turns into a grey/silver pullet and if its a boy a white roo.

I hatched out eight chicks in October. They all looked the same except for one that was almost completely yellow. Now that they are two months old, they all look completely different. You can't tell what they will look like when they grow up. I have one that is black with brow markings, one all tan, a solid gray, a gray and red cockerel, two grays with brown necks and the little yellow one is sliver with black barring. In the end, they are all stunning and I can't decide who to keep and who to sell! LOL

No, the chicks all look very different. And you won't know what egg colors you get until they start laying. I was eager to find out myself, and now the mystery is solved. Out of 6 hens: 3 green eggs, 2 blue eggs, and one pink egg.
