Easter Egger club!

I have a ee that started laying at 21 weeks she laid for 2 months then has stopped laying she hasn't laid in almost 2 months any suggestions ?

BUSTED!! I saw one of my 22/23 week old EEs checking out the inside of the nest box!! OOOOEEEEE!! I hope she is close to laying! One of the other EEs was checking the boxes out from the out skirts but didn't actually go in. I hope some colored eggs are in my near future!! I am SUPER excited!
That means any day now. try putting in a store egg or some other kind of egg in there so they get the idea.

That is so exciting! I hope you post a picture of the egg when it arrives!

I have an 18-week-old EE that has turned red in the face, and her comb has nearly doubled in size over the past week or so. The others look like they need about another month or so, but she's already squatting and investigating. It's making me excited for fresh eggs!

Egg laying is controlled by the length of day . Sounds like the short cold days of winter stopped her . Days are getting longer now so she should start up soon . You can also use a timer to turn on lights for a couple of hours a day .

I will for sure post a pic of the first egg! How could I not?!!

If you cross an EE with an EE, is the chick still considered an EE? I know they're all mutts, but just want to know what to tell the people I give the chicks to.

Yes, they will still be Easter Eggers.

My EE did the same thing. She took off about 3 months from laying during the winter. She didn't molt, but just stopped laying. She is back to laying again - beautiful, shiny blue eggs!
