Easter Egger club!

She dont seem sick no cough or anything she just goes and jumps on perch and sleeps both laying and standing she dont seem weak she has no problem jumping but dont seem to move very fast and sleeps unless I take her out.....I no she was about to lay a egg yesterday she was fine squatting when I walked up to her she was in box fixing it up her sister started last week laying...I dont know no signs of anything she just fluffs up and sleeps eyes closed and dont care what happends around her....I take her out and shes walks around 5min pecks drinks and all but then right back to perch to sleep my thought was a egg stuck but I couldn't really tell

I would post in the sick forum too and add some electrolytes or acv to the water that might help her. Check her poop does it seem off color? Any mucus? Any worms or eggs? How's her crop? I would see if it's hard or mushy? Does she have an oder coming from her? Sorry a lot of questions but maybe it will help determine if it's a crop or egg bond problem.

Hello! I have my first flock of chickens, ever! I have 13, 4 are Easter Eggers. Mine EE ladies are a little skittish compared to my Barred Rocks but they are my favorites. Two of the four aren't as shy but I wonder if they will become more trusting with age.

Here are pictures of three out of the four, one girl is harder to get a photo of. They always come out blurry.

Very cute! Love the second one's color!

Well, the new pullets have officially moved into the barn with my existing flock of 5 (3 layers, 2 Roos ), they've spent the last few weekends getting acquainted with each other during the day, the pullets safe in the old dog crate, and the existing flock free ranging and able to meet them at their leisure.

There have been no agression issues so far,.and things look to be going smoothly

I moved them into the barn late in the afternoon, and it was the first time they've tasted true, real, uncaged *FREEDOM!*, the first time they got to truly spread their wings, and they were loving every second, room, space, stuff to perch on, hay bedding to explore, scratch at and peck, the sheer joy they felt at getting out of the crate was great....

....imagine their reactions once they realize there is 50 acres of land they could potentially explore...

When I let my original flock back in for the night, they didn't bother the pullets, in fact, the little black-with-white-patterning pullet with the massive beard rushed over and tried to be freinds, she's the most social of all of them, she really wants to meet her new neighbors..

Strangely enough, the existing flock all seem a little standoffish and timid around the newcomers, perhaps because they realize they're outnumbered by the new arrivals?

The little black and white pullet is up front right next to the Orp, that's the one that wants to befriend everyone...
