Easter Egger club!

Newmarch, keep trying treats, it may help to have them in a plastic container. Like the meal worms come in, take it out to them, shake the container, call the chicks and toss out some treats. Eventually they will get it. I can't pick up an empty meal worm container without being mobbed. Also just in case, with the summer temps, meal worms will produce a lot of heat after being eaten, try to give them early if possible. But any thing you give them if it can make noise when shook will help get them use to the idea. Keep talking to them and toss grass bits in helps too. They will get use to you.

Hi, EE fans. I just wanted to post a couple pics of my 18 week old EE'ers. Marcia, Jan, and Cindy. First chicks I've raised since babies. Can't believe how big they are and what looooong necks they have compared to my Leghorn and Golden Comet.

Look at those long necks! L to R: Jan, Marcia, Cindy

They are cute! How do you tell them apart?

Ever since they were babies, they have had the same markings. Jan has always been the darkest, both head and body, Marcia was always the lightest and still is, Cindy was always the biggest/tallest with darker body but lighter head. Cindy has no fluffy cheeks either and the other two do.

I have 3 white and black EE hens to this day I can't name or tell apart. I can not see a slight difference like I can in my trio of light brahma or speckled sussex.it drives me nuts and it's been over a year. not even the combs are different!

Aw, I know what you mean. When I have two (or more) that I can't tell apart, I put leg rings on them. Especially when I had 5 lavender Ameraucana chicks. Right now I have two EEs, Triscuit and Weetabix that looked very different as tiny chicks, but then as they got their feathers in, they started to look the same. But I don't need to ring them because one has a grey beard, and the other has speckles all over instead of bars. So their differences are quiet obvious, even from a distance.

Hootie is 12 weeks old now! Her comb changes colors with her mood. She was very excited about being inside the house and getting her favorite treats!
