I have thought of ringing my birds until I look at my Cochins. worry it could damage leg feathers but then again once you had it on you wouldn't see it. Them some big fluffy legs.

I thought I was buying Ameracaunas but low and behold I have me some Easter eggers, but they are so unique to look at I'm not really disappointed. Problem is I think I'm certain at least two are Roos, the splash and blue. Perhaps the black /copper is a pullet? They are 10 weeks here. Opinions?

So what's up with this guys comb? It's like squashed at the top instead of straight pea comb line like his buddies who are also pictured? Also I'm pretty sure 2 of my 3 are roosters so maybe this is the one I should get rid of? Already have way too may roosters but they are both so pretty! How do you choose?

Some of my araucanas have weird combs like that.

Hmmm so maybe mine was crossed with some breed that has combs like that. I had bought them as "Amercaunas" before I really knew what a true Amercauna was. The place I got them from had 10 or so different breeds and so someone must have been a fence hopper, hoping maybe a copper maran so I can have some olive eggs
