Easter Egger club!

My Ameraucana project colors at the show . Some would say EE since they are not in the standard yet . Reserve AOV = any other variety . Lots of lavenders entered so a large AOV class .

I think my EE molt well too. There are feathers everywhere and we can see the new growth and color changes, but there are no bare spots, no exposed quills. They lose their tail feathers and wing feathers one or two at a time. They also seem to be cycling through only a couple birds at a time.

My oldest, EEs, were hatched early-mid May and they don't even have any red in their combs yet. I have a Buff Orp that hatched end of June and she's got a more respectable red comb and wattles then the older girls. None of them have more than one finger width between their pelvic bones though, so I'm not getting my hopes up. Maybe they won't start until spring and a later start will mean they will lay better or longer? Here's hoping! Don't think I'm going to ever buy chicks so "late" in the year again. There is a man that lives about an hour away that sells "guarenteed started pullets" for $15. Maybe I should get a couple of those.

That's good to know about EE being late bloomers. My girls are eager to start finding eggs. We have 6 kids in our home. The 2 boys are less interested.
We also have one sexlink, 2 black orps and 5 silver laced wyandottes and our Dominique roo. All of them are about 24 to 26 weeks old, not one egg.

If you didn't want to wait that would be the thing to do. And that's not a bad price at all.

You have some nice looking roosters! I especially like the top one, (same rooster as in your avatar?). He has almost a shadowed barring to him. Pretty.

Just cause I want to show them off!!!

I have three EE's, and I love how different they all look from one another. I'll get some pics and post them later this week. But, here is one of them as a baby.

And now almost all grown up

In my EE and LF mixed flock it's the Speckled Sussex that are the bullies. My Cochin will only stand up to a feisty bantam hen while my Brahmas will only stand up for themselves now and then;they run off mostly. Have had Lorp mixed hens who were hell ions on our 1st yrs flock and we removed them. I love large fowl but prefer ones with a gentle temperment. My Cochins in the new coop are still shy of me, but getting better.

@chickrookie, your black roo could be a twin to mine!

My Fester, please excuse me if I have said this before. It's pretty early and my coffee has yet to kick in.

They are beautiful IMO. The bottom pic, hen on the far left, would you have a pic of a side view? I would love to see the color going across her wing.
You take great pic's BTW.
