Good looking birds!

She is actually a he. Ended up being a gorgeous roo, but, a bit aggressive, we found a farm for him to flex those muscles at. But, yes, he was gorgeous!

These are our newest easter eggers, Rosie who is camera shy and Bunny.

I'm still not sure that Rosie is a hen, but, so far, she isn't trying to crow. Still, the feathering has me keeping an eye on her.

Pretty sure your Rosie is indeed a hen.. At least from my experience by that age the roosters combs would be well off of their heads. :) She's cute that's for sure!! Mom has been getting eggs from our replacement Easter eggers lately. (Thats all we have laying right now are the EEs.. The black sex links are kinda overweight and in a molt so no brown eggs.) ONly green eggs and Tiny whites eggs from the OEGBs. Lol.

This is our pretty little girl, Scooter. Took that the last time I was home.. I get to go home from College Friday and see my birds. So I'll be happy!! Looking forward to it!

In my EE and LF mixed flock it's the Speckled Sussex that are the bullies. My Cochin will only stand up to a feisty bantam hen while my Brahmas will only stand up for themselves now and then;they run off mostly. Have had Lorp mixed hens who were hell ions on our 1st yrs flock and we removed them. I love large fowl but prefer ones with a gentle temperment. My Cochins in the new coop are still shy of me, but getting better.

My bantam Silkies were very shy as pullets. But now that they are 3-1/2 and 4-1/2 y/o they run to me, tug at my pant leg, or stand on my shoes to get my attention. If they could fly I know they'd be on my shoulder LOL! They carry on the cutest conversations with me and tremble when I pick them up because they know they are getting a special cricket treat or meal worms. Your shy Cochins will probably eventually get bolder - they are wary of hand treats at first but over the years they'll get more confidence and trust in you. Standing tall near a chicken makes them wary. Getting down on one knee or sitting on the ground will make you less threatening. It takes a while since my Silkies were rather skittish as pullets but now are my backyard pests never leaving me alone LOL!
