Hi everybody! Can you all give me the ages that your EEs started laying? I know it really varies with EEs but I'm curious if they all take forever or is there a chance I'll get lucky.

They are soooo pretty! I think, maybe, that the white one, not the girl in the front but kind of to the right of her and behind, might be a boy. But EEs are really hard to sex. All of them are GORGEOUS!
SunnyDawn- I believe my EEs started laying at about 5 and a half months old... It really varies though!
I have had many EE's over the years and they lay the largest, best quality eggs of any of my different breeds of chickens! This is my Buff hen "Buffy" she is a little over a year old and lays a beautiful blue green egg. I went to the feed store today and they had white EE chicks and I just had to have a couple since I've never had a white one before!! I think one of the two chicks is a sexing-mistake rooster which I will be very happy if it is!! I should get some pretty chicks Buff x White!
I love Buffy's color!
Make sure your white "EE's" have green legs - I was too new to look at leg color, and the one they sold me as an "Ameraucana" (which I would have been happy with as an EE) turned out to be a Leghorn (although it does look like yours has a cute little beard!). Which would also explain a larger comb.
Thank-you everyone for your nice compliments on my sweet "Buffy" girl.
Did you notice that she has "Blue" legs, not green? I wonder what the hatchery is using to get the buff color in the EE's? The picture of my white EE chick doesn't show the muff very well! Both chicks have VERY round, fluffy faces and I don't know why their legs look yellow in the picture because they already have a green cast. They were so sad looking at the feed store, hidden away in that dark, dingy brooder! When I got them home and put them with my other chicks (4 wk old BLRW who is taking the role as momma to my 3 wk old Black Wyandotte chick and its companion chick a 2 wk old Delaware) on nice soft shavings and a large chick room of their own, they were SO happy and are very perky now!! Makes me feel sad for the chicks I didn't bring home! I better watch out or I might end up with more!
Here is a picture of both of the chicks that show their muffs better. Oh, and one chick has a single black spot on it's back!
And these are eggs Buffy laid. Their color is very much like the pure Ameraucanas. Can't wait to see what the white EEs lay!!
