Easter Egger club!

My EE rooster was a clown...I had to give him up Saturday due to neighbors but I still have 1 EE hen, she seems to have taken the flock over. I miss the boy but I still have the others to keep up the silliness . I'll get more next spring for sure...the green blue eggs are cool!

I got thirteen little chicks two weeks ago. Four are EE they are by far my favorite! So much personality, they are always the first out into the yard to scratch and peck around. I am so excited for them to grow up and lay some beautiful eggs.

I am posting on behalf of an older friend who does not do computers. (Told her BYC was reason enough but she's not biting!

) She was looking into adding some EE to her young flock and wondering how well they lay. Our research show 3-4 eggs a week but that they don't lay through the winter. Is this most people's experience? She was hoping for better layers but wants those pretty eggs!

She can find some crossed with leghorns or another production breed.
DM Rippy sells eggs of leghorn crosses for super blue egg layers.Posts regularly on the ameraucana thread.Send a pm.You need more light in winter to make them lay.Use a timer on the lights. They need 12-14 hours of light.

I'm not the one looking for them. Fatcatx is. Or at least her neighbor is.

Hey, we are on the Gulf Coast and we have some EE hens that lay right through the winter. Especially if they start laying in the fall initially. Extra lighting will help all of them of course. We will have EE eggs available in the fall if you are still interested at that point. Some of our birds are on our profile page, We have the blue, blue/green mint color and a light green color along with a few light brown color egg layers also, Having a few of each color makes the egg carton "pop" and enhances each hue. We breed with Ameracauna, EE and Wyandottes to reduce flighty-ness. Standard Large Fowl. Thanks, Chirp
