Easter Egger club!

Our EE is starting to squat now!! She actually let me hold her and rub her chest. This is an amazing feat for any of our 3 EE. I'm so thrilled. Just had to share.

Congrats!
thank you. Ya know how I've been struggling with those 3 and I'm feeling a coming around day very soon! Plus one of the fluffy face ones is becoming more trusting-I think-lol she came willingly to get the evening time treat & even came up to me in the coop.

thank you!

That's awesome! It seems that EE's tend to be more skittish up until a certain age. We couldn't even get near our EE's until they were both well after laying, and now they're the sweetest things! We've even had people show them in shows and they were more well behaved than our Buff Orpington and RSL that someone borrowed from us to show! Hopefully yours continue to get more social! :)

Edit to add: Your welcome!

So these are my babies. They all came from the same "batch". It's funny because after being with the other hens of the same age for about 2 months now they still stick together! They are not laying yet and I was wondering if you have any hens that look like them and what their eggs look like. I know it all depends on genetics but who can blame me for my excitement! lol. The pictures are kind of bad because they were taken first thing this morning being let out of the coop so food and outside air is absolutely on the brain. Thank you in advance!

Remember to uses the "judge's hold" when picking her up now to avoid putting pressure on her reproductive sides if she's laying soon.
