Easter Egger club!

My two Egger gals stopped laying eggs. They don't seem to be molting because they were born in April. Just no eggs from either of them since last week. I miss those pretty green eggs and they are bright eyed and looking good anyway! hope it is just a short break, but an entire week no eggs from them?

It's probably just the short winter daylight. Try giving them a light bulb to lengthen their day. I was losing production until I added three hours of light in the morning. My timer comes on at 5am, sun comes up at 8 and sets at 5:30.Now almost everone is laying even in temps of 5 as a high and-20 at night.

Mine have essentially stopped as we'll. I'm in Phoenix AZ so it's not the weather. Could be the shortened daylight I suppose but we're not THAT short on sunshine. They're not old enough to be molting and I don't see any extra feathers around...

Thought?

I am new at chicken keeping. Hoping it is just the cold weather and shortened days. I do not have electricity in the coop and was planning on allowing nature to take it's course. As long as they continue to run around outside and grab treats I guess there is nothing to worry about.
Twelve hours or mor is best for egg production. Ten wors nut any less and most hens will slow down or stop.
I have heard that daylight will slow or stop production. I have three RSL's that still are laying but our sunrise is at 7am and sets at 5. It is darker in the am and close to sunset, so they are not getting 10 hours of full daylight. If stopping does not hurt them, then I guess it is less eggs for us. I just hope it is not due to any illness, but they look and act normal. Some of their feathers are coming out, but not like an "explosion" that I hear others talk about with a full molt.
