Bantam whites are often black under the white . So the first generation cross will show the influence of whatever color is under the recessive white . If it is black under the white the chicks will have a lot of black .Genetics question here.
I have a mixed group of EE bantams and recently got some Wheaten Ameraucana Bantams that are old enough that they are known to breed true.
I also have a White Ameraucana hen. At 2 years she is still white as snow with no bleed thru of any color. I read a little on genetics and when it got to a certain point, I was lost. If I did understand somewhat, I think she may be recessive white rather than dominant white.
She is in with the Wheaten cock. I know the offspring will be EE since they will not breed true, but I am curious what to expect from those two. Waiting for a hatch and feather out is such a nail biter!
