Easter Egger club!

Just one Easter Egger, her name is Geraldine, and she lays large, beautiful eggs. Definitely the top of the pecking order, she loudly "scolds" the cat whenever he comes around. She's headstrong, bossy, and lays nearly every day. Love her!

That is so cute because it reminds me of my Ameraucana (my avatar) who used to chase off the stray cats when she was younger. She is reclusive when she is molting or not laying but once she starts laying again she gets very noisy and more active but now that she's older she's stopped chasing the wild birds or cats. Our newest pullet of a different breed has taken over chasing out backyard intruders now. I was disappointed that our Amer isn't a prolific layer like a Leghorn or a BR but she does lay about half the year and XL blue eggs -- I keep her because she is such a nice flockmate to the other breeds and non-combative even if one tries to challenge her. I love her temperament even if she doesn't lay tons of eggs. These are the funniest quirkiest strangest birds compared to other breeds but they do appeal to people who want a gentler non-combative pet-type of chicken.

So funny, because everyone talks about EEs/Amers being so docile, and ours is not! She's not as bossy as a roo, but she does push the other girls around a bit. Just goes to show that the breed determines some of the personality, but each hen is her own bird!

oh yes you want a mostl quiet chicken then the EE is the right one. I will put a video of her I did have 2 but sunshine got carried off by a eagle. yes I do not know if different EEs will have different personalities.

One of my EE hens is the LOUDEST hen I've ever heard!!! Seriously loud. She's also the protector of the flock since I don't have a Rooster. She lays the prettiest blue eggs though.
