Not sure where to post this but since it could be related to genetics I will try this forum.

I have 3 Easter Egger pullets and one has what looks like a single comb (the other two pea comb)- pictured below. All my EEs have muffs so look they look like Ameraucana mixes (not legbar), which has pea comb dominant.

I have read mixed things about whether the blue egg gene is linked to pea comb. Question is will this EE end up laying brown eggs because of her comb?

Does anyone here have EEs with muffs/beards that lay green/blue eggs while having single combs?

Olive eggers often have a single comb. Comb type doesn't dictate egg color. Carrying the gene for green or blue eggs determines the egg color from my understanding.

OP, you're right that the pea comb is linked to the blue egg gene in some breeds and mixes. It's not 100% however, because the link can be broken in a random mutation event called a "crossover". In those cases a chicken with a straight comb and the blue egg gene can be bred within a line of EE's or OE's and many of the progeny can show the same trait.
In a pure breed or tested & true line of mixes, the pea comb and blue egg gene remain linked with only the slightest chance of crossover, and because the breeders are rejecting any that do not show a good pea comb, the link is maintained.

Will your chicken lay blue (/green)? It's hard to answer. Odds are "no".
