From what I understand the only one I can confirm is a pullet will lay brown eggs, totally disappointed as I keep trying for more green/blue eggs and keep getting cocks! Ugh! Lol

if they have not layed many it can change

Until they lay it's nearly impossible to determine what color they will lay unless you know each parent was homozygous for brown.

Yes that is very true but a blue layer can hatch a green layer

Thank you everyone, I appreciate all of the information. I did not know that they could lay a different color egg than from what they were hatched so that is very interesting.

sometimes the first egg or two may be more tan leaning to pink so it is not huge a
difference but a bit of a surprise
