So I have this 10 month old Easter Egger. Or at least she was supposed to be. She has slate legs, a pea comb, and lays blue eggs like an EE, but no tuffs. Her color/pattern is also very interesting. I ordered her from MPC at 1 day old. Pics are below. Let me know what you think she is a mix of, I'm thinking Barnevelder maybe.

EEs are a mix of many variations of breeds. They are actually discribed as mutts of the chicken world. Like my dog, a Brussels Griffon mix, who has all the characteristics of a BG EXCEPT she is silver. They specifically don't come in silver. So the best I can say is she is a Brussels Griffon mix, a mutt. I can't pinpoint the other breed/breeds she may be mixed with. So with an EE, you know, because of the egg color, it has that gene, but you can' place other details the best you can come up with is she's an EE.

Wow, I have never seen a EE that looks like that, she is very pretty though! EE usually have tuffs, I personally have never had a EE without them. The only other birds that I know of who lay blue eggs are Araucana, Whiting true blue, and Cream Legbars. She is definitely not a Araucana or a Cream Legbars. Whiting True Blues are an off branch of the EE and are bred for their Blue eggs, they are often tuffless, I don't think that the Whiting True Blue is a very common breed though, and im positive not many hatcheries have it. My best guess is that she is just a very unusual EE.

Not all EE have muffs and beards. Mine doesn’t. She lays gorgeous mint green eggs. She’s a Meyers hatchery bird.
