I'm not convinced that Easter Eggers are complete mutts. They all have a specific look to them. Maybe they don't breed to a strict standard but they all look like a specific strain of chicken to me.

Yep. They all have at least 25% ameraucana in them, and dependence on the variety of ameraucana used, and the specific hatchery they came from, finding some that look similar isn't uncommon. This year we have a repeat of three of our girls. Bb8 looks like Lilly (rip), Freckles look like Caroline, and Kara Danvers looks like Reese's! And they all look pretty much EXACTLY the same, especially Reese's and Kara.

And here is grown-up Fowler

Wow! My idaho has a white chest speckled with black and a black with a little white head. His beard is black and most of him is grey/white/black until the red popped up. He's bigger than all the girls now and already calls out a warning when he sees something suspicious. He got too close to the rabbit yesterday fluffed up and I thought might attack but when the rabbit came closer he skwaked (spelling?) then ran under my propped up leg.

Do EE's have to have the fluffy cheeks because my white and black chick that was supposed to be an Ameraucauna does not. She has a very smooth face. The others bought from that bin are all EE's and they do have the fluffy cheeks. One looks like it might have ear tufts too.
