Agreed on hanging onto your peep for awhile, but the comb size and the red shoulders starting to peek out are making me think cockerel. Please repost in a couple of weeks as it matures- bit of a head scratcher!

BoyIt’s definitely an oddball! I’m hoping it’s somehow a female so I can keep it because I think I’m going to love the coloring. Haha. As a baby it was just a light colored chipmunk one. It’s the lightest one in this picture.
Whatever this cute chick is, I see silver lace wyandotte pattern forming on some of the feathers. I have a gold laced wyandotte, and this is how his lace pattern started too.Any clues as to what I have here? Came from tractor supply as a pullet, but we all know how that can go. Lol. The comb looks pullet to me, but the uneven color pattern and the little flecks of red are making me wonder. 5ish weeks old. Comb doesn’t seem any bigger or more red than the other 2 I got at the same time. View attachment 2268794View attachment 2268795View attachment 2268797View attachment 2268798View attachment 2268799

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
