This is Brownie, she's 19 weeks old this week. I believe she is a pullet, but her behavior is baffling me. She is quite mean and stand-offish, unlike any other of my pullets or hens. I started integrating the new pullets in May, in June, I took away their portable pen and have had no problems. She is HUGE and bigger than the rest of of my hens (Black sex-link and red sex-links).

She is just now starting to hang out with the rest of the flock, but always flanks them. She is quite attached to Rocky, a Plymouth Rock that was raised with her. The 2 are inseparable. She is the lowest in the pecking order and the only one in my flock that pecks me (in defense?). This has only happened in the coop at night when I do my evening count and get too close to her. I just want to make sure I've got a pullet. :D

I had the same exact scenario... a bsl that came from the same batch as the others that I would have sworn was a rooster and an entirely different breed... she was waaaay bigger than her siblings and feathered out with a lot of brown. Today she is just about one year old and most definitely a girl; lays gigantic eggs. Your hen reminds me a lot of our Zorro (name we gave her when we thought she was a he, name just stuck).

Zorro is beautiful!

I have one almost the same age. She won't get within 10' of me. My other hens all like me and come running. I think EEs can be strange birds.
