Easter Egger question

If I breed my EE Rooster to a Golden Comet hen could I get EE chicks? I just hatched a brood and have several chicks with feathered legs and several with ear muffs. Just curious also what colour eggs to expect...?

You have a chance of having colored egg laying offspring, but it is not guaranteed. A recent hatch of EE/brown layers yielded two pullet chicks - -one went on to produce green eggs while the other produced brown.

If we could see a rooster's DNA, this would be so much easier

If he's pure for the blue egg gene, breeding him to a brown egger will yield pullets that all lay green eggs.
If he's split for blue and brown, breeding him to brown eggers will give half green eggers and half brown eggers.
