easter egger question?

What age do EE's begin laying? And about what age do they reach there full body size and adult plumage, thanks

Usually between 16-20 weeks. But some may lay later depending on the weather .

My EEs have always been late bloomers as far as eggs, but such reliable layers that it doesn't bother me too much. I think they were more like 24-26 weeks. I was concerned about them, but a friend of mine said hers started later than her other breeds, too.

Full plumage...I think by nine months old, they looked like adults rather than pullets, but I didn't really pay attention.

They are beautiful birds. I didn't much care for muffs and such, just got them for the pretty eggs, but they've really grown on me. My EE roo has the classic red/black/green color pattern (but with the characteristic muff and body) and this amazing tail. It's no wonder he struts like that, he is a real looker. LOL

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. My EEs have typically started laying from 20-24 weeks, sometimes a little earlier and on rare occasion a little later. I think my Easter Eggers have typically reached their full adult size at about 5-6 months. They have their adult plumage considerably earlier than that. I've only had one Easter Egger, but she started laying at around 20 weeks old. It took her a little longer to fill out completely.

22-24 weeks have been the average for the EE I've had.

Easter Eggers, along with most chickens, generally begin laying at 22-26 weeks of age. However, it does vary with each bird.
