You were all spot on with your assessment and this little lady is the first of the hens to lay eggs. She's 3 eggs in now and I'm just waiting for the others to start laying soon too. Here's a photo of the first.Update and another look if anyone has a moment:
#5 from above is 49 days older, but I’m surprised I’m not seeing more of a comb. It’s an odd straight comb for an Easter Egger. While the comb itself isn’t all that red, it’s wattles have a hint of read, but aren’t all that large either. He was born the same time as the rest and hasn’t sized up like the other two cockerels. Those guys are deeefinitely showing their red and floppy pea combs. #4 is the only crower at this point.
What say you? Cockerel or not so sure? Thank you!
