Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

They are too beautiful to rehome until I hear a crow lol.... I will update in another week or so. I'm really hoping that they break the colour rules and end up pullets :)

These ones need another week or so. The red doesn't quite look the right shade for rooster red, and it looks like it's more a part of the overall pattern. And the combs are still very small and pale. Just not sure about these two, and it's not often that I get stumped.

That first looks rooish for the one facing the camera, but hard to tell.

How 'bout this one?
We're not even sure what it's mixed with:

Hey guys, I worried a few weeks ago that this guy would be ugly and you said he would not be. I just wanted to show you how right you were at three and a half months.

I want to breed him to this pullet.

She's basically the same color as him, just in female version. Should produce some very consistent looking chicks. And they males should easily be sexed by chest color, at a few weeks old.

That looks like a purebred Wheaten Ameraucana cockerel.

Thank you!
That makes sense. Someone gave me fertile eggs with some others that I bought, but I lost track of what was what at hatch time.
We call him Toonces, after a calico cat we used to have (SNL skit). He's a bit shy, but very a pleasant member of the flock.
I have a purebred wheaten pullet (I think)- they should make a nice pair.
I'll post a pic of her tomorrow.
Thanks again!

Hi everyone!
I've got an 8 week old EE that has got me confused. Comb is very small, not quite as dark as the obvious cockerels but darker than the obvious pullets. It has a pattern that is more "pullety" definitely not as showy as the other roos, but I am seeing red coming in on wings. Would love to hear what everyone thinks! Thanks!!

Not rooster red. You're in the clear. That is definitely a pullet.
