OK, so... I know you all decided Charlie looked like a pullet. But today... there are two raised lines on either side of her comb making it look like three rows and her wattles are popping out. She's either my fastest developing pullet, or a slow developing cockerel! lol It was bedtime when I noticed this so I will try to get a better pic tomorrow! None of the others have wattles yet. They turn 9 weeks tomorrow.

What color is the comb? Usually by 9 weeks it is bright red on a cockerel. Waiting to see the pic tomorrow.

Barely pink. That is what's weird. Maybe I have a mutant. I'm also worried that maybe what I saw isn't wattles and maybe it's a swollen face or something.

Barely pink... probably a pullet. I was leaning that way because of the brown-red coloring on the wings, but pics on the computer are not always reliable color wise.

EEs don't usually get wattles, but under all that beard, they do have kind of a turkey neck... red skin when mature. Maybe you are seeing that.

Alright... here we go. As of this morning I'm back in camp "That's a wattle!" lol It's just on one side only right now (I threw in a pic of the other side for comparison). None of the other chickens have combs that look like this. I tried to get a photo for comparision but none of the others would cooperate. Which is weird. Charlie is so docile. They all have thick legs, they all walk around like roosters, lol So I don't have any other traits to compare him/her with. Also, I tried to get a better pic of the feathers but by that point, Charlie had had enough handling!

That is indeed a wattle! It happens, but I've never seen just one.
That comb is pullet colored. If Charlie was 6 weeks, I would say cockerel for sure, as that's what a developing young cockerel's comb looks like. But at 9 wks, not being red makes me think you still have a chance for a pullet.
Dark feathers on the wings do not look rooster red, so that's another point in the pullet column.
Unfortunately, I can't see the breast color. If it's a light gold color, that's also a pullet sign. If it's mostly white, then possible cockerel.
If you are hoping for a pullet, then there is still hope. I'm leaning that way, but really can't say for sure one way or the other. The slow developing cockerels can really throw you for a loop.

The comb looks like an honest to goodness, pure pea comb. In fact, it's exactly like the one my female Brahma had at that age. I think pullet.
FWIW, I have a lopsided Marans hen -- one wattle noticeably bigger than the other. She's just special like that. Maybe Charlie is special, too.

Charlie acts like such a pullet too. The breast color matches the color on the wings. OK So.... I've been reading way too much and differing opinions lol, so now I'm questioning my Delta and Echo --Or "Decco" as I call them both now since they look so much alike. I was reading that if neck color is different from head color that is often a sign of a roo. They are my "big girls" Huge from the start. Bossy. Their combs are starting to pop too, I kinda got a shot of Echos but not Deltas. Delta's looks a little different, but not the three rows. It's not really the comb that has me wondering, but the feather coloring. Dark head, golden outlined 'mane', some blotchy red on the wing? Or do you think that is brown?

Pullet. That is a very common "head and necklace" pattern, there is no "rooster red" on the bird.
