Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

lablover, I would not be too worried about 3 rows of peas on a 3 week old bird. Often a cross with a wyandotte (somewhere along the line in the mysterious hatchery breeding) can lead to extra wide combs on pullets. It's just too early to say on your baby right now.

I have been obsessively reading this thread, LOL. I love seeing the pics of everyone's babies! It is amazing to me how varied EEs can be.

Now just keeping my fingers crossed that Ginger is a girl...

Here are better pics, I know it is still too early, but now that I've looked at it up-close, it looks more like a single comb instead of a pea comb. Or is it still a pea comb? Hatchery EE's can have single combs right?

I have a friend who needs some help ID-ing her EE. It is now 8-9 weeks old I believe? It's had a red comb since it was pretty young.

That doesn't look like a single comb to me (It would have little sharp points instead of bumps.). The EEs can come out with some different looking combs. I think you are going to have to wait a bit longer to tell on this one. It would be great if you could post again next week so we could see the changes.

Won't surprise me if it's a boy, though.
