Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I sent pics of my little flock at 41/2 weeks. Here they are at 10wks. I hatched some chicks as part of our summer science camp in July & decided to keep the hens. I believe I have 3 hens, 2 roosters, and 1 ?? -I just don't know. I have no idea of the breeds - probably mutts - from a rainbow of eggs. (full size - not bantams) I think 3 are Easter-eggers because of the dark legs & coloration. Please let me know if my predictions are correct & if you know what breeds might be in the mix.

The flock at a glance.

Hen. Maybe an Easter-egger? Greenish-grey legs with feather stubble

Hen. Large, A lot of "fluff" to her feathers. White with slight buff color on head. Pale legs, beak & comb. Timid around people

Hen smaller. yellow legs & beak

Rooster. Mostly white. Faint barring (buff color) on wings. Slightly smaller than the others. Comb turned pink at 4 weeks.

Rooster - Easter-egger. Largest & leader of flock. I hope someone will tell me I'm wrong. Comb turned pink at 5 weeks. No wattles even at 10 weeks. Personality says it all with this beauty. He is trained to come when called and goes into the coop when told. He even tolerates going to the park to ride the swings with the kids. I think I see some saddle feathers but no crowing or huge tail yet. I hope I can rehome him somewhere nice.

???? The 2 photo collages above are all the same chicken. Grey (kind of thick for size) legs. Has always been the smallest, but is fearless & always busy. I've said rooster since the day it hatched, but at 9 1/2+ weeks, the comb is still small. Only now is the tiny comb getting a little color. Likes to raise & cock its head as you speak. The collar around the back of neck looks pointed, but the actual feather tips are more rounded. No wattles.

Thank you for taking the time to read this & give your opinion.

I think you're right on all your guesses. The last chick is also an Easter Egger and it's a pullet. I have one that looks very similar.

Any guesses? Comb seems more pink than others.... But all white/pale yellow so no color pointers. 6-1/2wks.

I have two white EEs, and one of them has darker pink comb than the other. So I thought it was a boy, but it turned out to be a girl. I think that might be the case with your white EE, too. It does not look roo-ish to me. Once you know for sure, please post again.

Not sure what I just did but I was trying to respond to your post....I thought I was seeing my Topaz in your post. Wow the first hen looks exactly like mine only Topaz tail & wings are blue. Wings got clipped, she was eyeing the top of the fence & I wouldn't want her to be the neighbor's dog's meal. Breeder told me she's Ameraucana but being told she's EE...waiting for eggs, she's 18wks.

Yes, they do look like sisters. Mine are all very sweet & probably "barnyard mixes." I only care about the temperament & eggs, so it's nice to have some pretty hens as a bonus.
Pics are from 7weeks & 4 weeks

I have nine pullets that are starting to lay. I believe that I have one Wyandotte laying as of today. I have three other laying. One Barred Rock, one Black Australorp, and possibly one White Rock are also laying. I figure that the two EE';s will probably be about last of the group. The real question is, will they lay before or after my three rescue pullets. Can't wait to get my first eggs from all these girls. I seem to also be getting eggs daily again from my established hens. I went from one egg a day to 5-6 each day. Wowza!
