Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I hope my Silver Ameracauna rooster will develop a beautiful tail like yours. He is about 17 weeks now. I love the colors on your boy.

Beautiful rooster. I wish I could keep my boys. They are the same age as yours. So lucky you can have roosters where you live.

Thank you both.... He is our first rooster and we live in a very rural area, so no issues with neighbors.

Beautiful rooster. I have an ee that is solid silver. Hasn't started to crow yet (fingers crossed that she doesn't). It's solid silver but the feathers around her neck are more triangular where it starts to mesh in wih the rest of her body which makes me think boy. She also exhibits somewhat male behavior like standing btwn me and the three girls. But her tail is tented and stubby like my BRs. Her tail is not very showey nor is the rest of her feathers like males typically have....wish I could post a picture...she is also short in statue and fluffy for lack of better description of her body type as compared to males. She has a great "beard" on her cheeks....

Thank you.... you should post of picture and maybe someone on her can tell you if they think she is a he.... I hope for you that you have a pullet. I would love to see her.

What's the difference (aside from egg color) between Ameraucana, Easter Egger and Olive Egger....Anyone? Are they different breeds or just egg color? Just wondering...
From what I have read, the olive egger can be many crosses, but the "classic" OE cross is a Black copper maran (darkest brown eggs) with an EE or true Ameraucana (Blue eggs) The egg color genes combine and it is like paint- blue and dark brown make a dark olive green. I am a novice, but that is my understanding from what I have read

True, if bred with a light brown egg layer it will be green but not olive. For instance if you crossed with a Wellsummer you would get green eggs with dark olive spots. You can also use a Cream Legbar and the Auracana (the rumpless one) instead of an EE or Americana to get the blue egg gene. Pendenesca's lay almost as dark as BCM's.
