I'm such a proud Army mom today! We are headed to a little town of Norlina, NC to hear my career Army son speak at the Veteran's Day service at their cemetery. He has one more year before retirement and has always been proud to serve where ever he has been sent. However, he is so looking forward to retirement. Even as a 12 yr old, he would be one of a group who put flags on the graves of our veterans. He's a good "kid".....(always my kid...only son)

Oh, you have every right to be sooo proud! Thank him and his family for their service. We retired from the US Navy after 26 years. I know first hand the sacrifices the families make! We raised our grandson and like your son he was always so patriotic. When Jamie filed his first ever tax return my husband grinned at him...."Well, Jamie, you've just done something that you're going to be doing every year from now on." Jamie looked at the figures marching across the tax form and told his grampa, "Seems like a pretty small amount of rent to pay to live in America, Grampa."

He knew from 11 years old what he wanted to do when he graduated from high school, and he did it. He is now a nuclear reactor operator on board a US submarine and returned two weeks ago from a 7 month deployment. He is married to a remarkable young woman who is doing a superb job as a Navy wife. When Jamie left his son wasn't crawling yet. When the boat came in, Landyn walked to his daddy.

Congratulate your son, and pat yourself on the back as well. He didn't come out of the hospital wrapped in a blanket and a desire to help others by serving. He learned that as he grew up, and we owe you our gratitude as well for the lessons you taught him so well.

Any Ideas about this little girl (Which I hope is a little girl) but she is a great deal larger than my other chicks and they are all the same age. Love the color of her legs! But is she a her?

These are 2 of my EE's from this years bunch! They are both 13 weeks old so hopefully only about 3 more weeks until they start laying! Anyway, the cockerel's name is bacon and I don't know a name for my pullet. What do you all think her name should be? Oh, and next year these 2 are going to be together so do you think there is a good chance of their chicks having the same color as the hen since they both are blue and red?

Call her Cat for Catelyn Tully. The colors of riverrun are red and blue :D As far as colors, it's a crap shoot. EE's have such different genetic backgrounds I don't think you can predict it...

I would call her Cobra. She looks very "Don't mess with me" and the black hood reminds me of a coiled snake.....kind of.
