Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

EE#1

EE#2

Pullets ???? Have another pict I thought I had downloaded so I'll add it asap...
This one has been segregated due to being rather aggressive...solitary confinement! The others still try to look over the "wall" that I have set up..maybe another week and I'll put him/her back. Had been told this was a pullet...can't get a great pict but has the beige feathers on the chest.

This is EE #3. Still has a pink comb. Got all of these the first of March.

Need help with my EEs. Picked them out as babies from straight run and still have no idea of their gender. Any help is appreciated!
My "orange" one looks masculine and has always had a very muscular stance, even as a tiny baby. Pretty thick legs... But heck, I have thick legs and I'm female! No crowing and gets beat up a lot, poor baby. I call him/her Rex

Next is my darker baby. Slimmer and has a little rooish looking tail to me. But very light comb. Just looks feminine. I call her/him Rap

They're right at 4 months old.

I think I see salmon on the darker one's breast. Is this accurate? If they are 4 months, I believe this one will be squatting for you soon. The other one is a cockerel, no doubt.

Definitely not dark like the other, very light colored to me. BUT.... These beauties both have very thick legs. It could very well be 2 cockerels! They stay together and if they get out of the others sight, they scream for one another.

this is not really very reliable. Many chicken pathogens can remain dormant in a "carrier chicken" and either the stress of the move can inflame it and cause that bird to get sick, or even if it doesn't get sick itself, it sheds the pathogen in its poop. That's why you should always quarantine...preferably for a whole month, longer if you can. The incubation period for a lot of germs is longer than two weeks and many people mistakingly integrate birds at two weeks then everyone gets sick.
I prefer to hatch mine, although that's not always a guarantee either, some things are passed from mother to check inside the egg.

I agree and am practicing this. My older birds I bought all together and are in the coop. My younger ones are in the house for now. Keeping fingers crossed that everyone stays healthy! Most were from the same person, so I expect so.

Number 1 is a pullet! I have one that looks identical "Joplin" is her name:) #2 has even coloring from what I can see, but the black and whites are so tricky. How many rows of peas does she have? #3 looks like a pullet but the color on the wings makes me almost say roo, can you get comb shots of #2 and #3? They are all so pretty, neat to see so many colors!
