Any one want to take a guess at this one?
I was told 'Americanna'..... But a very pretty EE is just fine with me.
She/he is still pretty young - I think about 2-3weeks
I hope so!
This one was the wild-child of the bunch and then a couple of days ago decided that it HAD to be in my hands as much as possible and even seemed jealous when I picked someone else up - trying to hop up with them or even to grab them and pull them out of my hands.
I have a 2.5 week old EE that holds it tail much higher then the 2 Wellie chicks. I have never had an EE and don't have anything to compare it with. I know the longer I wait the easier it is to tell but the longer I wait the more attached I am becoming. right now her name is Gretta I am hoping it does not become RE Gretta
Gretta usually holds her tail up much higher but I think she was a bit nervous for her photo shoot.
I am a stickler for the terminology. Maybe my fingers did not type what I ment..<g>
I have both EE's and Ameracana Roosters and some of each of hens. BUTT I mostly call them EE's.
My local feed store calls them Ameracana out of habit even tho he knows the difference.
When I was there this morning he said he had 2 Aracanas for sale. I made sure I looked at them before I left.
Guess what? He had 2 really good looking Lavender rumpless, tufted roosters you would ever want to look at.
Really great color. Best Lav's I ever seen. If he still has one Wednesday when my SS check comes I may just buy one.
I would put it in my flock just to help color.
My "daughter" from Georgia brought me a Cream Legbar roo chick for my BD. She also brought me 3 Blue Slate turkey poults.
All 4 about a week old. I had a good hatch of Marans (16 of 18) Wednesday and I put the turkeys and Legbar in with them.
It is hard to pick the turkeys from the Marans. Almost same color and pattern.
You can tell I like blue birds.
I just now called the feed store and they are holding one of the Lav Aracanas till Wedsnesday for me<g>
I need another chicken like I need another hole in my head
