Ergh, I hope she's a SHE. Otherwise I've got three out of four birds all boys....I had an EE roo that had trouble feathering out like Moneypenny....

Isn't that the truth! Haha! I know they say you have a 50-50 chance.
For straight run, yes. For sexed, 90%+
You SURE those birds are 5 1/2 weeks old? All of mine had more feathering than that at 3 weeks when they were moved to the coop in an unheated barn. It was the start of the second week of July, I did put their heat lamp facing into a big box in there the first couple of nights just in case - nervous new "father"![]()
Hope that doesn't mean yours are boys.

X3 Plus, the chipmunk stripe on the top of the head is very defined. We had several chipmunk EE chicks and the ones with the defined head stripe were pullets. The one with more spotty head markings was a cockeral. I really think there's something to that.Definitely too early! The red in this photo looks to be on the breast, which is actually more often a sign of a pullet than a cockerel. That combined with the brown partridge looking wings make me lean towards female. As it feathers out (5-8 weeks) we'll be able to give much better guesses.
thats very interesting, of my 2 i have one with the speckles on the head, and one with a solid chipmuk line.,..ill help with input to your philosphy!X3 Plus, the chipmunk stripe on the top of the head is very defined.
