Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I posted Bertie a few weeks back but wasn't able to get a good shot at the time. The thought then was pullet. Here's a few from Tuesday evening. It has no comb whatsoever, and does not appear to have pointed hackle feathers (that red EE behind her definitely has the hackles going on as well as the 3-row pea comb). She is 13 weeks old. I'm concerned because there is the slightest bit of red showing up at the very tip of one or two of her flight feathers.

You can sort of see the darker feathers at the tips of her wings here. Note the presence of my super chill 11 year old Lab/Aussie shepherd mix.

Another shot that you can sort of see wing tip

Easy to see lack of comb

PS - anybody want to come pull some weeds? I hate those stinkin' pavers!

Neither Orpingtons nor Australorps (Australian Orpington) have feathered legs. I don't know what is in  your chicken but it isn't one of them.

Feathered legged chickens include: Brahma, Langshan, Cochin, Faverolles. There are probably others.

I also slightly agree, however I have a jap rooster and he has some serious stubs that trail down the outside if his legs. It makes him look feathered legges.

Faerolles, lagnshans, Cochins and Brahman are only a few of the many many fea Her legged breeds.

Such as silkies, sultans, booted bantams, D'uccles, French marans, etc.
