Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I think I know the answer, but I am a new chicken mom, so can those who have been there before me take a guess? This Chickpea, a nearly seven week old EE. Chickpea was bought at the same time as my other chickens, but is the only one to have any color or size to his/her comb, no wattles. Do you think it's a roo?

Yes. I also see the beginnings of rusty red spots coming in on the upper wings which is a male trait. EEs don't have wattles.

Don't make me gather the clean-faced EEs to dispute that! :plbb

Bearded EEs don't have wattles. Or at least not big ones. :old

Well, that explains that ha ha ha. I suspected he was a roo. I was 99% sure but was going to wait for the cock-a-doodle-doo to happen. I'm very hopeful all the rest are pullets. No signs of pink or red and none seem to act as he does. Thanks for the help.

Yes, he is definitely a cockerel. From the photo it looks like you still have them in a brooder?
At 7 weeks they are old enough to be outside.

I have 4 Easter Egger chicks, exactly 6 weeks old in these photos. One white, one silver, and two brown (let's call the one with more red on the head/hackles #1 and the one with tan/more variegated color #2).

Gender opinions, please? Thank you!

6 weeks is kind of young, but here's what I see:
White is a cockerel (fat red comb)
Brown 1 looks like a pullet, although there is not a good shot of the comb.
Brown 2 not sure, chance of a cockerel, based on comb width. Will need a couple more weeks to be sure. If you see red spots/patches coming in on the wings, then male. If comb stays pale and feather pattern evenly spread out, then pullet.
Silver, very pretty pullet. Love that color!
