It's around that time when curiosity is too much to bear! I have three Easter Eggers around 6 weeks old now and I would love guesses on their sex. I will definitely be updating as the weeks go by to see the final results!

First up is one I've nicknamed Blondie - I'm feeling good about her being a pullet based on her patterning.

The next two are very similar and I'm seeing some patchy wing color which has me concerned about cockerels! "Buckbeak" first:

Finally, "Pretty Girl" who enjoys jumping on my lap and taking glamour shots - could she be a "Pretty Boy" instead?

None have any significant color in the comb yet, but after researching Easter Eggers I know patterns and colors are good indicators too. What do y'all think?

Leaning towards all pullets. You are correct in suspecting the bottom two though. BUT, thats a pretty small comb.

I like the optimism! In looking closer at their combs, the last two definitely have something more developing than "Blondie", but still small so far 😅

"Blondie" comb:

We are around 10 weeks old now and I'm curious to hear what y'all think about this one - I believe I'm seeing some manly hackle and saddle feathers on "Buckbeak", along with some serious rusty wing color:

Still a relatively small comb but how can I ignore that rusty wing!

"Pretty Girl" has definitely grown out of the patchy wing color and developed more pullet patterning. In comparing these two red partridges I'm growing serious doubts about "Buckbeak"! Pretty Girl below to compare:

Oof. Those are some pretty red wing patches. Pretty Girl is a pullet. First bird is tricky. First one can definitely be a slower maturing cockerel.

@Overo Mare Thoughts?

10 weeks? It *could* be a slow developing cockerel, but I'm thinking pullet. That comb is so small and pale.

Update us in a few weeks!
