Easter Egger Thread!

They are beautiful! :D I love the white and black pattern on the bantie. Are you positive that the dark brown is an EE? She looks similar in some ways to my Blacky (which is a mix). :)

Yeah.. Here's the link. This is the exact one I ordered.. https://www.mypetchicken.com/catalog/Day-Old-Baby-Chicks/Day-Old-Chicks-Easter-Egger-p246.aspx But, her not being just an EE? Wow, that would be really weird, because whenever I think of EEs I think of her.. What is she then?

Yeah, also forgot, what about her comb? Is anything wrong with it, or do you need better pictures. By the way, this was supposed to be a thread for fun, but now you're answering my questions, so thank you!

I checked the link and your gal definitely doesn't match up with the EE example pics they have on their website... an accident maybe? :p I wouldnt worry about her comb... it is unique... like a pea comb + cushion comb + pointed comb? I haven't seen any quite like it... but it is kinda cool. :D Could you get a few pictures of her whole body when you can? I have been looking over the Standard breeds (non-bantams) they sell on my pet chicken to see if she is a unintentional mixed breed or there was a missed-placed chick in the order. ;) She is a very interesting chicken! :) :D As for me answering questions... It is really fun. :D I am not an expert though... not by a long shot... :p and this is part of how I learn. Also, the fact that I get to share what I know with people who like talking about chickens is awesome. :wee:ya:yesss::woot

For those that have grown Easter Eggers, can you post a baby picture with their grown picture please? I'm dying to see what their plumage grows into from what it started at with their baby feathers.

One of mine looks like this right now, and I'm looking forward to seeing what she grows into. The other one has deeper tan and more brown spots on her face and less eyeliner.

I have 4 EE's: Cocoa & Pearl are cockerels and Mocha & Butterbutt are pullets. They all have different personalities. Pearl is low man on the pecking order out of 3 males (also have a RIR cockerel), but he was the first and most active in the mating game, he is very gentle to handle and gets super relaxed in my lap and gets a lot of hugs n' kisses. He gets chased off by the other guys a lot. He is full of wanderlust. Cocoa is fine with being held, but doesn't love it as much as Pearl. He just began mating and is acting very cocky.

Mocha really doesn't like being handled and complains a lot. I think she is low bird in the whole flock. Butterbutt likes to be held and scratched, but gets singled out by the boys often and isn't too keen on it. She and Mocha hang out together a lot.

The photos are horrible, but show age progression from chicks to almost 4 months old. I really love them and their variety of colors.

Ohhh I love Mocha's lavender color! My Gretchen has some feathers coming out that color so I hope she's a darker variation on Mocha!
